Person one: Youre approaching an intersection with a stop sign. Whats the drill?

First, check your mirrors. Indicate and apply the brakes so others can see you intend to stop and turn right. A right turn into traffic is all about getting the essentials right.

(Text on screen changes “Position to see and be seen.” Close up shot of motorcyclist looking right at oncoming traffic. Text disappears. View changes to shot of main flow of traffic, motorcyclist stopped at stop sign. Shot changes to motorcyclist slowly coming forward out of stop sign slightly.)

The correct road position ensures you can see and be seen by other road users. Position your bike in the tight wheel track so you get a clear view of traffic flow and others can see you. So long as you dont get in the way of other traffic, you can move forward to give yourself a clearer view.

(Text on bottom of screen “Be vigilant and scan your surroundings.” Shot of motorcyclist from side scanning both directions. Changes to view of motorcyclist from their bike looking behind their shoulder. Shot of motorcyclist turning right into camera.)

Scan the road in both directions. Do a  head check over your right shoulder. Move off, and scan to the left as you merge into the traffic flow.

(Changes to view of main road as motorcyclist turns onto road.)

Dont cut across any road markings, and make a smooth, curved line into the lane, thats the way.

(Footage of motorcyclist turning into main road. Text on screen “Remember… use brakes and indicators at least three seconds before you change direction, to show others what you intend to do.)
