Person one: Here’s a typical source of danger. You’re riding across town, approaching an intersection, with two cars waiting to turn. You’ve checked your mirrors, another car is behind you. Multiple hazards, so what do you do?
(Drone footage of bike driving straight. Changes to bike driving towards camera. View changes to back of bike. Brake light comes on. Changes back to view of bike driving towards camera.)
Check your mirrors to make sure you’re aware of what’s going on around you. Check that you haven’t left an indicator on. Use your brakes, so the brake light lets the driver behind see that you’re slowing down. Ensuring you get seen is essential.
(Bike driving towards camera. Changes to back view of bike moving across their side of the road, bike approaches intersection with cars waiting to turn.)
Road positioning is important and a lateral move can also help you get noticed. High viz gear might help too.

Have other road users seen you? Is there eye contact? Is any there wheel movement? What are your options if a car does turn: where can you go?

It’s a situation where every move you make is crucial. So you need to be sure about what you can and can’t do. Continue through the intersection and make sure you’re aware of any hazards.
